One Organization’s Agile Journey
When Sage’s R&D organization decided to adopt Agile Scrum it was with mixed emotions. They experienced many struggles, including role definitions, planning, inter-departmental communication ,etc. The team felt some resistance, learned many valuable lessons, gave themselves room to learn and grow and have found themselves really happy to have embarked upon the path to adopting Agile. Darrick will be sharing the team’s hopes and fears, successes and learning; this is a valuable journey to be on and they still have more to do.
Agile scrum has sometimes confused the team members, almost always improved them, made the team more responsible and responsive, and brought everyone closer to their customers. Design, development, QA and documentation have all found their roles affected, processes changed and responsibilities increased. The result: their quality is higher, their production more predictable and their teams work better together than ever before.
